Happy Birthday to...

Today is Aaron's b-day! Happy Birthday honey! His family came in town yesterday afternoon. We pretty much hung out for a little while before we went out to dinner on the Boulevard for some Mexican at Manny's. I split the fajitas with John, Aaron's nephew, they were pretty tastey, plus I was starving. One of Brian's friend's, Sarah, also joined us. Eli was very good at dinner.
I was not able to run any errands before the family arrived, so Aaron & I stopped to get his b-day cake so we could have it for dessert when we got home. Aaron got Eli ready for bed, and fell asleep with him. I had to wake him up so we could cut the cake. It was really good ice cream cake!
We stayed up talking for a while, then I went to bed around 10pm and read my book.
Eli woke up 2 or 3 times last night. Each time I put him back down, he fell asleep pretty quickly. He woke up at 7am, but I was pretty tired, so Aaron got up with him and did the morning stuff with him. Eli woke up the rest of the house and I was able to stay in bed, it was very relaxing.
We waited on Brian because he had a conference call which started at 5am and did not get done until around 11am! Crazy! Aaron was able to take a nap and I was able to read my book while everyone else entertained Eli. He was able to watch a lot of "Thomas, the Useful Engine".
Brian arrived around lunchtime and we went to the Plaza for some Jack Stack BBQ. It was past Eli's naptime, so we were apprehensive on how he would be. He was pretty good, but fell asleep on our short drive home. Aaron was able to get him to bed without him waking up. His cold is sounding a lot better. The weather has been really nice this weekend, but I have not really been able to enjoy it! I really wanted to go shopping, but the family left later than I thought, but we all enjoyed each other's company and it was a nice weekend. I just hate how fast it goes by!
Jessica and Jamie had their baby boy today! Brody Christopher! Congrats to the new parents! Now Brody and Aaron share their b-days!
Well, I will be posting some pics this week. I want to read my book, almost done.

31 Weeks

According to BabyCenter.com
He weighs about 3.3 pounds (try carrying four navel oranges) and is heading into a growth spurt. He can turn his head from side to side, and his arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath his skin. He's probably moving a lot, too, so you may have trouble sleeping because your baby's kicks and somersaults keep you up. Take comfort: All this moving is a sign that your baby is active and healthy.

I went to the the doctor on Thursday, I lost 1 lb! So, now I feel like I'm where I should be since I supposedly gained 9 lbs the last time! That's just crazy... it had to be the boots! FHR = 155 bpm, and I'm measuring where I'm supposed to be, whatever that means. I still cannot believe that the baby is going to be having a major growth spurt the the next few weeks, I just feel so huge already.

Thank goodness this week went by faster than last. Thursday, Eli started coughing quite a bit. He did not have a fever. Emily and Becky came over to babysit so Aaron and I could go to dinner. We ended up going to Pot Pie. It was delicious. We both got the Monkfish, it came with mashed sweet potatoes and I think a brussel sprout side. Then we had their awesome bread pudding for dessert. It was so good. I'm usually not a fan of bread pudding, but it was delicious! We were home before 9pm. Emily and Becky were surprised we were home so early, but to be honest, we were both so tired. We were also betting whether Eli would even go to bed for them. He was up when we got home, but I can also attribute that to Stoli barking at us when we arrived. They said he did fall asleep for a little while.

That night I was up with Eli quite a bit. He had a hard timesleeping because he was so congested, and coughing. Poor guy. He was so tired, but cranky. We both did not sleep very well. We decided to keep him home Friday, so Aaron and I split the day, I had a presentation to give at work that afternoon I could not miss.

When Eli woke up, it was in a pretty good mood despite his cold. He was still coughing a sneezing a lot. He also just needed a good nap. Too bad there is not any medicine we can give him. We did the Vicks Vaporub and that seemed to help a little.
Friday night we called it an early night and Aaron and I watched a movie. His family is coming down tomorrow for his B-day.

"Phone...!"

I forgot to mention something funny that happened yesterday at church. During Mass when they ring the bells, (my Catholic friends would know when that is), the whole church is quiet, and Eli yells, "Phone...!", then they ring the bells again, Eli looks at us like, why don't you answer it, and yells again, "Phone...!".
Too funny! Aaron and I looked at each other and were cracking up.

30 Weeks

This week went by very slowly. By Thursday, I thought it should be Friday. Ziggy is now about the size of a cabbage, according to Baby Center. I feel like he/she is feet down because at times I feel her kicks and they are very uncomfortable. I had a knee or elbow at the top of my belly earlier this week. Things are getting more and more uncomfortable. I've been super tired.
I was hoping to rejuvenate myself over the weekend, but the weekend of course went by way too fast. Mom and Dad came to visit. They arrived around lunchtime on Saturday. Mom brought one of my favorite Filipino dishes with her, Sinigang, so we had that for lunch. They definitely captured Eli's attention with the Thomas and Percy starter train set. He was sooo excited! Mom and and Dad wanted to hit DSW so we went after they played with Eli for a little bit after he took his nap. We did not plan on being there too long, but were there for almost 2 hours! They were having a great sale. We all ended up with a new pair of shoes.
We were unable to watch the KU v. Mizzou game because it is one of the few games on ESPNU-- a pay per view channel, so I had my laptop open to refresh every 30 seconds with the score. We won, it seemed a little too close for me.
Eli seems to wake up around 2AM every night, but I bring him back to bed and he falls asleep pretty quickly. Aaron is trying a new strategy to try to get him in his bed and leave his room, but Eli keeps trying to get out of bed. We had a hard time getting him to go to sleep for his afternoon nap today. It was a major struggle.
Today we went to mass, Eli was pretty good. He had a few outbursts, but no biggie. Then Mom and Dad treated us for lunch to celebrate Aaron's b-day which is next weekend. Eli ate a lot! Aaron and I were laughing because Mom and Dad kept piling the food on his plate.
Mom and Dad left when we were trying to get Eli to nap. Aaron and I were both exhausted this afternoon and tried to take a nap, of course Eli woke up from his, so we were the bad parents and plopped him down and had him watch a few episodes oof "Thomas and Friends" while we dozed off for a little while.
I'm not looking forward to another long week.I hope everyone has a Happy Monday!

Big Boy Bed

Over the weekend Aaron and I finished putting Eli's new room together. Saturday we were able to get him to sleep in his new bed successfully for his nap. Then we had him sleep in there that night. He did pretty well. He just woke up at 5:30A, crying in his bed, so I just went in there to lay down with him and he laid down for a little while, but he would not go back to sleep. We then laid down in our bed and he did fall asleep for a little while. I was so tired, not only from waking up early, but Aaron and I had done a lot of house work the day before, so he let me sleep in for a little while. We went to the hospital to visit Katie and Jake and the new addition. They were all doing well. Nicholas was loving his little brother.
Eli fell asleep pretty quickly for his nap, I ran some errands while Aaron stayed home. Aaron made his famous Eggplant Parmesan for dinner.
My good friend, Vinnie, was driving through town, and she arrived right before Eli was going to bed. Vin and I were able to catch up and visit, she ended up leaving around 11pm. We had a nice visit!
Eli slept through the night Sunday, but this morning he woke up at 5:30A again. We're just having a hard time keeping him in his bed when we're trying to get him to go to sleep.
His love of Thomas the Train is turning into an obsession. He is continually wanting to see the "Choo Choo" and he absolutely loves "Percy", but the way he says "Percy" can sound dirty...LOL!I bought him a Thomas calendar and book and he absolutely is mesmerized by them both. It's cute to see him so excited about something though.
This baby is moving around quite a bit, with not a lot of room to move! Today I had an elbow or a knee right on the top of my belly. I had to keep pushing it back in! Pretty weird. Well, that's all for now. Need to get some sleep! I am reading a good book right now, borrowed from Rhonda, "The Other Boleyn Girl" by Philippa Gregory. I saw the preview for the movie coming out in the spring. Looks really good!

29 Weeks

I had a prego moment the other day. I was trying to leave to get to work on time since I had a meeting first thing. Eli was not cooperating, Aaron was in the shower so could not really help me. I had to pretty much wrestle his coat on him, and carry my over 30 lb toddler to the car and try to get him in his car seat with him arching his back and yelling "Nooooo!" and "Hellllpppp!", to top it off it was pouring outside. Everything is ten times harder with a huge belly! Once I finally was on my way, I started crying out of frustration, and pure fright knowing that I'll be doing this with two kids! Holy crap! It was hard to stay angry because Eli was saying some pretty funny things on the way to school/work. I know it'll be fine, but I was also a little hormonal.
My 29 week appointment was yesterday. I'm actually measuring where I should be, but I gained 9 lbs in TWO weeks! I was floored. I blame the weight gain on my boots. It's too much of a struggle to take them off. Baby is doing fine, FHR was 160 bpm with variations. We talked with the doctor about C-sections vs. a VBAC. After our appointment Aaron and I went to lunch and talked through our options. I have a gut feeling to repeat a C-section. I'm really leaning that way. I feel like there was another reason Eli did not fit besides his size. The doctor said at 37 weeks he'll get another ultrasound and talk through our options again.
Some exciting news, Jake and Kate had a baby boy this afternoon! Congrats! No name yet. I hope to see them this weekend.
Here is the latest prego pic-- I look all baby!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to everyone!Sorry I've been a slacker with my postings! Aaron and I really did not greet the new year at midnight this year. Eli had a temperature the night before, so we took it easy. I worked from home, and Aaron went into work for a few hours, then we made a nice steak dinner. Eli went to bed early since he was getting cranky, so Aaron and I were in bed by 8pm watching TV and falling asleep early! The joys of parenthood and pregnancy!

Prego Update:
I am now 28 weeks along, in my third and final trimester! Whoo hoo! I had my glucose test to test for Gestational Diabetes, and my glucose and hemoglobin were both normal. The FHR (fetal heart rate) was 145 bpm (beats per minute)and so far everything is looking good. Amazingly I only gained 1 lb since my last appointment a month ago and BEFORE the holidays. My goal is to gain less than last pregnancy, I gained about 40 lbs with Eli. We'll see, this is the trimester I'll be packing on the pounds, ugh! My appointments will now be every 2 weeks until 36 weeks. I am measuring a little bigger, but it's too early to tell if I'll be having another 10 lb baby! My gut is telling me I'll be having a C-Section before my due date.

Eli Update:
Eli is now 20 months old! My little baby is growing up! He walks with a purpose. When I pick him up from school he has to wave and say "bye bye" to everyone he sees. So cute! He loves "choo choos" and "puppy". He has to say good night to "puppy" several times. In fact we're training Stoli to sit in his room until he falls asleep because it keeps him from crying when we leave the room.
Aaron painted Eli's big boy room over the weekend. It is so cute! We have the Eric Carle bedding, the author and illustrator of "The Very Hungry Catepillar".We have an animal theme, which Eli loves. We have been hanging out with him in his new room, reading to him, and playing with him in his room. We will try to get him to nap in there next weekend.
His teachers have been doing Montessori activities with him such as sorting and pouring, which helps in his fine motor development. They told me he is doing "advanced" Montessori work, like I said, my child is a genius! LOL! He really does love all the activities they do. They said he had so much fun in music class this past week.

Well, that's about all! I found out Erin and Andy will be expecting in August 2008, Fozzy the Fetus-- wocka wocka wocka! Congrats! Katie and Jake will be having Baby #2 on January 14th.

I'll be posting some pics, hopefully this week.
